Contentment

I honestly don't always know what I want or need. Even when I know, do I really? I try to stay away from obsessing over things. I've found a place of contentment that is not easy to explain. It's a security in knowing my Father in heaven has a plan for me, to prosper me and never harm me. He will clothe me in the finest and feed me the best. I can't get distracted by what's in front of me or behind me. Rest, trust, contentment, peace, all became mine when I accepted Christ. I'll just keep my heart after the Father and he will never let me down. I just know. :)


For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NLT)

Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matthew 6:26-33 NLT)
